Summary of Role
The Senior Project Manager is responsible for developing project plans in collaboration with others and translating the project’s plans and objectives into detailed, agreed and achievable schedules which are clearly communicated to key stakeholders.
Together with the Core Project Team (CPT) and subject to the project’s stage of development, the Senior Project Manager will develop and implement manufacturing, preclinical, regulatory, clinical and commercial strategies.
The Senior Project Manager is responsible for co-ordination both operational and commercial activities of a project.
Working within our matrix style of management, the Senior Project Manager will be responsible for leading the cross-functional CPT to achieve project objectives.
Responsibilities
The Senior Project Manager has overall responsibility for their project. More specifically, for:
Developing and communicating project goals to all relevant parties and ensuring project-related communication occurs at all levels within the matrix.
Collaborating with departmental managers and others to develop a detailed project plan with goals, objectives and strategies
Maintaining the project schedule and revising and updating project plans
Managing the project risk
Identifying and resolving critical issues
Constructing and managing annual budgets and long-range financial projections
Providing technical support to discussions and negotiations
Coordinating commercial activities Reporting project performance to R&D line management, Project Review Committee (PRC) and PharmaPlan Committee (PPC)
Developing and maintaining a strong working relationship with both internal and external collaborators
Tracking, reviewing and reporting project progress and issues Ensuring that project requirements are built into the workplans or individuals who need to input into the project
Maintaining all project documentation
Person Profile:
An appropriate scientific qualification combined with planning and coordination and people management skills is required for this role.
The role of a Senior Project Manager is one that combines detailed knowledge of drug development and clinical trial management with planning, coordination and people management skills.
The successful candidate must have;
Drive, energy and excitement to achieve the project vision and objectives
Relevant qualifications in the biomedical sciences, and the ability to understand the science which underpins the project.
Relevant qualification or experience on project ,management of pharmaceutical R&D projects
Experience in the product development process
Well developed time management and organisational skills
Good interpersonal, negotiation and influencing skills
Experience and confidence in dealing with senior managers and the ability to represent the company externally
Good analytical and problem solving skills PC skills (Microsoft office) plus knowledge of MS Project
The ability to present well both orally and in writing. |
